Zoë Batten

I live in Pauanui with my husband Doug and our sons Matt (23) and Josh (22).  We all fly so Pauanui is the perfect spot as we have a runway on our front doorstep. We have been here for over 20 years!

I was born and raised in Kenya and Tanzania (where I met Doug) before moving to NZ in 1994. My first decade in NZ was spent jet setting around the world as a flight attendant (with some of our other Steppers). I currently fill my days studying and trying to manage a house of males. I also love the outdoors and frequently head off hiking.

I have always liked the idea of line dancing but have never been a “dancer”. So when I saw it was in town I decided to give it a go. It has been so much fun. I love the physical and mental challenge it offers and it’s all washed down with buckets of laughter. My favourite dance is Storm and Stone and the song that always makes me smile is I Love That Dance. I’d encourage someone to come along by saying that we have the best teacher who makes it fun (even if she calls us suckers)!
