Why I Created This Tour

For most of my working life, I've been helping people discover beautiful places.

A lifetime of creating memorable experiences

My career began in tourism, where I worked as a Director of Sales and Marketing for a large hotel. I then went on to own and run Sunlover Retreat, a boutique B&B on the Coromandel Peninsula that became one of New Zealandโ€™s highly regarded hosted accommodation experiences.

Those years taught me something I still believe today โ€” the magic of travel isnโ€™t just about the places you visit. Itโ€™s about the people you meet, the stories you share, the little moments that happen along the way, and feeling genuinely looked after.

Through hosting guests, mentoring accommodation operators, and now building the line dancing Salty Steppers community, my passion has always been the same: creating welcoming environments where people can relax, connect, laugh, and make memories.

Thatโ€™s what inspired the Salty Steppers Dancing Tour of Ireland.

What started as learning a few dances has grown into the wonderful Salty Steppers community. Every week I see friendships formed, confidence grow, and people laughing together on the dance floor.

It made me realise something. What if I could combine my two greatest passions? Travel...and line dancing. Ireland felt like the perfect place.

It has spectacular scenery, fascinating history, warm and welcoming people, wonderful music and, of course, a thriving line dancing community.

This isn't just a sightseeing tour with a dance or two added in. It's a holiday designed by a line dancer, for line dancers. Whether you've travelled the world or this is your first big adventure, my goal is simple:

To make sure you return home with unforgettable memories, wonderful new friends and stories you'll be telling for years to come.

I'd love you to join us.

Donna Brooke

Founder, Salty Steppers

Imagine yourself here...

Imagine waking up in Ireland, knowing that today holds another adventure.

Youโ€™ll wander through ancient castles and historic villages where every stone has a story to tell. Youโ€™ll stand high above the Atlantic Ocean, feeling the power and beauty of the Cliffs of Moher stretching along the rugged coastline.

Youโ€™ll explore winding country roads, colourful towns, and landscapes that look like theyโ€™ve been painted just for you.

But itโ€™s the moments in between that youโ€™ll remember most...

Sharing a laugh over a pint (or a cuppa!) in a cosy Irish pub.

Listening to local stories and discovering the warmth and humour of the Irish people.

Dancing alongside new friends and fellow dancers, celebrating the music and rhythm that brought us all together.

Watching the sun dip below the horizon along the Wild Atlantic Way, taking in the beauty of a place that feels both wonderfully different and somehow familiar.

This is more than a trip.

Itโ€™s friendships formed, stories shared, and memories created.

Meet Gary Oโ€™Reilly - your guide to dancing through the hills of Donegal

For many dancers around the world, Gary Oโ€™Reilly needs little introduction.

A hugely respected choreographer, instructor and performer, Gary has inspired dancers across the globe with his passion for Irish music, movement and storytelling through dance.

Now, weโ€™re thrilled to have Gary join us for a very special part of the Salty Steppers Dancing Tour of Ireland โ€” the Explore and Dance the Hills of Donegal Tour.

Imagine dancing in the heart of one of Irelandโ€™s most breathtaking regions, surrounded by rugged coastlines, rolling green hills and the warmth of the Donegal people.

With Gary as your host, youโ€™ll experience Ireland in a way that goes beyond sightseeing. Youโ€™ll dance, learn, laugh and create memories with fellow dancers who share the same passion.

Whether youโ€™ve followed Garyโ€™s dances for years or youโ€™re simply excited to experience Irish culture through movement, this is a unique opportunity to be part of something truly special.

Come for the dancing.

Stay for the friendships.

Leave with memories youโ€™ll treasure forever.
