SUE POWERS

I’m nearly 62 in years age but definitely not in spirit! Originally from Auckland, I’ve happily called beautiful Pauanui home for the past five years. I’m a bit of a fitness fanatic who loves keeping active, but I’m just as happy chatting with people—I’m definitely a people person! When I’m not working part-time in Pauanui’s gift shop, you’ll usually find me getting creative with an artistic project or spending time with my furry family. I couldn’t imagine life without animals—my two lovable Labradors keep me on my toes, and my cat is completely convinced he’s a dog… and honestly, who’s going to tell him otherwise?

Line Dancing has been a fabulous addition to my life. We were all very excited to have Donna start up her Salty Steppers classes in Pauanui, and I was in like Flyn from the get go. Having spent many years dancing in my youth, it has been wonderful rediscovering my love of dance. Line dancing makes me smile and gives me so much joy. Donna’s enthusiasm is infectious and we all have a good old laugh.

I would totally encourage anyone to give Line Dancing a go. You don’t have to be a great dancer. You just have to love music, and be able to put one foot in front of the other (or not), it really doesn’t matter!  It’s fabulous exercise, and a great way to make new fun friends, have a laugh, and be part of a great group of people dancing together.
