I've lived in this beautiful part of the world after falling in love with it when we came here to work at Puka Park in Pauanui in 1986! Had 3 years there went off and looked after other lodges and came back to live in Tairua in 2005 buying ourselves Shells restaurant so we could live here!

After working in hospitality for years I had a move to another passion of mine... clothes! Some of you may recognize me from my time managing Millys Fashion Boutique and also from the many shows I've performed in for our local amateur theatre group "Troubadors".

A few of us went along to the first linedancing session to give it a go and to support our friend Donna in case nobody turned up!!! Well that was a joke, there were so many on the dance floor we all took to it immediately! With Donna's effervescent style of teaching how could we all not love it! 

 At 71 years of age, along with my golf, it's the best form of exercise. I feel like I'm at a Day Party 3x a week!! From the moment the warm up music comes on I can feel the euphoria! The joy and the mood of the room lifts up and it lifts me with it!!! It's so good for your memory (not that you'd know that when you see me waving at you all when I'm facing the wrong way quite regularly!!).

I've always loved music and dancing! my favorites are Rhumbumbumba (love Latin dancing) The Door, Neon Moon, Love Potion 666 and most recently Lord Willing cos i finally got it! 

 Just give it a go - you'll just love the wonderful bunch of people we dance alongside, Donnas teaching style is so easy to follow and she knows how to make us all feel like we're amazing even if we're not!! the camaraderie on the floor and at coffee afterwards is just so wonderful. It really does make you feel like you're alive!!!
