Judy Mckensie
I’m a 71 year old woman, mum of 4 and “ Nan” of 7. A former Physical Education teacher and dairy farmer, in the Waikato. I loved the outdoors, the physical nature of farming and being self employed. I need to be active , and once the kids were at school, I had time to play lots of golf.
We retired to Pauanui 11 years ago (the best 11 years of my life), and I love this community. I do Yoga, tramping, cycling and learned to play Bridge (which certainly made me use my brain). We have travelled a lot, with 3 kids overseas (now 2 permanently), and motorhomed.
l love music, but hadn’t danced until I took up line dancing with Donna. I don’t have a favourite, I have plenty of, and there aren’t many I don’t like. I’ve had to practice regularly, to keep up. I love the “ improvers” class, which I find hard, but once you “ nail” a dance, because they’re more complex, they’re more enjoyable. I liken line dancing, bridge and golf together, in that they all require a lot of concentration.
